Worldmap

Every self-respecting game just has to have a world map. You know, the map that is shown between levels and contributes nothing what so ever to the actual game, but is still mighty cool. I just have to include one in nano singleplayer.

The only logical one for nano is a naked body of Veronica where you can see in which part of her you are currently adventuring in. So I decided to use this idea, but to make it more scifi-sh I want it to look like a CAT scan image. And I definitely want a cool beam to scan up and down. Yeah!

Anyway… here’s a small image of the first mockup…

mockup of the worlmap

The colours on areas indicate how much of that current area is completed. Green = 100% etc. And then you would see the area colour change as you progress thru the levels. So each area would be made of several levels and would represent one location in the game with unique background / level blocks etc…

Might work. Any thoughts?

The idea is, that you have to come back some levels later? I love this idea the more I think about it. All the interesting areas… I wanna see heart and last level must be inside brains :D

The original plan is to progress from the foot towards the brain, which will be the final nest of all evil ;) I didn’t think about coming back though. I was thinking there might be 5 different locations (with x amount of levels in each). 1. Bloodvessels (or maybe a bigger artery) in the feet/thigh, 2. Stomach , 3. Uterus , 4. Heart, 5. Brain.

Uterus would naturally come before stomach when coming from the feet, but It will be such a cool location (hehheh… you’ll see why) that I think that you will have to travel in the stomach first. These are just preliminary plans, and might change.
